we have a resident who continues to bring her dog with her to the pool area.
to make matters worse, she is a board member. the sign near the pool clearly states that no pets are allowed in the pool area. i would think that this would
also be a violation of the city code as well.

Call the City/County Health Dept. or whatever agency is responsible to certify pools in your area and ask if it is a violation, if it is notify her that the next time it happens the authorities will be called. Have a camera handy to document the violation and also file a formal complaint with the BOD.

Sure call the health authorities who 'may' shut down the pool for 24 hrs while you incur additional costs to decontaminate the pool area to bring it back to health standards...of course that depends on if the typical health standards for pools is in place in you area!

What a horrible example to set for the homeowners she serves while on the Board!

If this does not stop immediately, begin censure process. The Board could remove her for such foolishness.

PS Make sure the rules and regulations sign is very visible at the pool and in the latest newsletter.

i believe it is against health code rules (depending on the area) and if found out you could get shut down. You Board needs to step up and end this.

Call the code guy, and see if he can show up when she is usually at the pool.

The pool gets closed down because of a BOD member...Oh boy, I'd pay to see that.

No pool access in the summer!

I don’t necessarily have legal advice to provide to you. Although, it appears that others didn’t either; just adding my two (2) cents.

However, as previously suggested; I would contact your local codes officer (health inspector, for your area). Prior to calling; I would inform the B.O.D of her blatant disregard for the “rules”.

I would have a field day if I had witnessed what you had observed, a board member doing! I can assure you ALL of that.

*BTW* is there anything written in your covenants concerning pets in the pool area? Unfortunately, either way you precede; you will likely as previously stated, be putting your entire community in jeopardy, “IF” the pool is shut down!

THAT SHOULD BE THE BOARDS MAIN CONCERN! THEIR NOT SETTING A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE AND SHE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HER ACTIONS! AS WELL AS THE B.O.D; IF NOTHING IS DONE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, IMMEDIATELY!

I am sure that you have pool rules posted, since that is required by the Health Dept. in most states.

Someone needs to take a picture and post it in the clubhouse "Do You know this woman and her dog"?

We have such a problem with people blatantly ignoring the rules at the pool, that the pool deck now had rats running across it to get to the garbage can that is full of food and drink items, which, by the way, are not allowed at the pool.

The BOH would have the pool closed down if called.
