Our HOA is as many of you know been presented with a recall petition regarding one of its DIrectors.

There was one homeowner who disclosed that he'd fill the empty position if we were successful. Only after the petition was sent he has backed out of his commitment.

Big question, if the recall is effective, our BOD still meets quorum with the remaining board members.( our bylaws state a number which we are currently over by 1 ) Do we have to replace them ?

I can not be on the board for personal reasons but mostly I work 2-10 pm and NOBODY wants to accomodate my schedule on the weekend only.

I think you should - if enough people are mad enough to sign the recall petition, I would think SOMEONE would be willing to step up. The remaining board may also want to appoint someone - governing documents usually allow this, but double check yours to be sure. Of course if the board still has a quorum, you may be ok for a while, but getting a full board is important in case someone else steps down (or is recalled)

(By the way, I've found weekend board meetings are usually a bad idea because everyone's busy with family matters, housework - and they want to relax from the workweek. If you don't have time to serve on the board, there may be a committe you can join to help out)

I used to work those same similar hours when I was President. Worked Second shift, had a part-time job, and went to college on the weekends. Had to make arrangements with my work to come in an hour early so I could take my lunch break to hold our HOA meetings once a month. Luckily, I lived 5 minutes from my house.

If you want to make something work, you make it work. My board members and general membership knew my hours. I would post the best time to contact me. No one has the perfect schedule but it doesn't mean your schedule wouldn't work. There's work to do on the weekends for your HOA. Simply say that you can't do work during the week but you can be the "Weekend" person if need be for those who can't do weekends.

It seems you want to do something. So do something... You can make it work.

I will offer up. I have years of board experience on basic things as board secretary and other committee positions. I will offer and hope someone can step in. Thank you.
