Hi:

We are about to replace the 30 year old gym equipment in our clubhouse for a small HOA.

We could use some ideas for what regulations we should implement. Would anyone like to share the fitness room / gym rules & regulations that you have in place?

Thanks!
Tony

Tony, here are some to pick and choose from that I have seen in different gyms. You should check with the HOA insurance carrier and/or attorney before setting a minimum age for unsupervised use to make sure it conforms to any applicable laws.

The Gym is open 24 hours, seven days per week.

Use of the equipment in this facility is at your own risk.

All equipment is first come - first used and may not be reserved.

Please be courteous to fellow gym users and their guests.

No one under 16 may use the gym unless accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.

Please limit cellular telephone conversations while in the Fitness Center or exit to
the lobby when on a call.

No smoking in the gym.

No alcoholic beverage permitted in the gym.

No pets allowed.

No wheeled recreational vehicles shall be allowed in the Gym. This includes, but is not limited to bicycles, tricycles, scooters, wagons, skateboards or roller skates/blades.

No unlawful use of the gym is allowed.

No signs, posters, photos, or literature shall be posted on any door, wall, window, or gym apparatus without prior Board of Directors' approval.

All belongings shall he removed from the gym when departing. The HOA shall not be
liable for any lost or stolen property.

Proper attire shall be worn while in the gym.

No wet bathing suits are allowed in the gym.

Leave the Fitness Center area as you found it. REPLACE ALL WEIGHTS &
wipe down machines after use. Please bring your own towel for this purpose.

Gym users shall wear foot apparel (sandals or gym shoes) while in the gym.

Gym access will be permitted through the outside gym door only.

Card keys for the gym are non-transferable to other households.

Gym users shall not facilitate gym access to users not in possession of a card key.

Use of the gym shall be governed by any and all other rules adopted by the Board of Directors who may at their discretion change the rules from time to time.

Gym privileges are conditional upon residential monthly fees not being delinquent
and there are no outstanding HOA fines or unresolved architectural review findings.

Failure to abide by Gym rules is an HOA violation and subject to fining and may
result in suspension or revocation of all gym privileges.

Replacement or issuance of an additional card key is $25.00.

Leave the Fitness Center area as you found it. REPLACE ALL WEIGHTS &
wipe down machines after use. Please bring your own towel for this purpose.

All glass items (bottles, glass cups, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the Fitness
Center. Food and beverages, except bottled water, should be consumed in the
break room area only.

Only suitable athletic shoes and sports attire is to be worn while using the
exercise equipment. Shirts are to be worn while in the Fitness Center.

Do not “monopolize” the exercise equipment. Thirty (30) minutes is the
maximum time on any one piece of equipment (especially aerobic exercise
equipment), if someone is waiting to use it.

Personal trainers are permitted to enter and use the Fitness Center when
accompanied by resident members. However, personal trainers must not utilize
the Fitness Center equipment in a way that prohibits or limits use by other
members who are not accompanied by a trainer.

The Fitness Center does not provide shower or spa facilities; please feel free,
however, to use the restroom located adjacent to the breakroom.

Please limit cellular telephone conversations while in the Fitness Center or exit to the lobby when on a call.

Use of the Fitness Center is limited to residents living in the building and their
guests. Residents are limited to two (2) guests at one time. Residents must
accompany their guests and remain with their guests at all times.
