Daryl, as Michele said best of luck getting your situation worked out but please understand that our questions are not meant to get into your business. So many times someone posts here telling their side of the story as they perceive it and the things they feel are out of line are in fact normal practices. While any money spent should be approved by the BOD sometimes it comes down to the person who is there at that moment to make a decision.

Our board has been less then transparent on things they are doing and the president has been making decisions on his own without even consulting the other board members (and lied about it...). I seen mention of an oversight committee in another post/thread and was curious how it works.

Are they copied on all emails and attend all meetings, or do they only get involved when requested? Is a code of conduct created that they enforce? Do they have limitations? How many people are on it and how are they chosen?

At a glance this looks like a great solution to a lot of concern in our community so I’d love to hear about others experiences and opinions.

Thanks!

Daryl,

Perhaps if you had just asked the question "Does anyone have any info about an oversight committee? and not given any details whatsoever of some of your concerns, some of us may not have asked more pointed questions. As Glen stated, oftentimes the OP states a problem but when all the info comes in it's determined nothing was being done wrong. We certainly weren't saying you were wrong about your Pres's actions, and I apologize if I gave you that impression. We were just trying to gather as much info as possible b/4 giving an opinion.

Good luck in your quest to find a viable solution to the problems in your assn. I agree, this certainly can be a very frustrating endeavor, especialy w/o the support of your fellow members.
