Our documents state dishes are to be put on the rear of the unit,if you can't get reception it can put on the side of the unit, if you still can't get reception we have to allow it to be placed on the front of the townhouse.

I know the FCC has rules but now the manager says we have to make sure we aren't violating Florida Renewable Energy Act, Florida friendly lawns, etc.

Where are dishes placed in your community?

Barbara,

The FCC rule applies regardless of what the FL Renewable Energy Act says.

Requiring a h/o to check out all those locations may be construed as a violation of the FCC rule because it would delay the installation and may also increase the cost.

the installer 'should' check the possible mounting positions with a signal strength meter ... a reading of 80+ is an acceptable signal

if the rear is 85 and the front is 95, then the rear can be enforced

if the rear is 75, sides 79, front 81 .. it CAN be front mounted as per FCC
