I've been hearing a lot lately that HOAs are limiting the ability to rent by any owner. Mainly that owners have to live in their units at least one year after they buy in before they can rent. I've heard from a number of people that this actually increases property values and you even get breaks on refi...

Anyone else hear of this?

Yes it true. Maany communities in our area of South Florida have a rental restriction where you must live in a unit for one year before you can sell. Homeowners had to approve a change in the documents to make this restriction possible.
