I've been tasked to look into rules and regs for communities that DO allow above ground pools ... what type of parameters other than location are placed on them. Does anyone have a any copy from their docs that they care to share?

Dee, I would start with your local zoning board to find out what they require, your requirements can be tougher but they have to at a minimum comply with the law.

For Instance this is from the City of Wayne: http://www.ci.wayne.mi.us/pdfs/swimpool.pdf

Associations are full of willing homeowners, some willing to volunteer and the rest willing to criticize. Author unknown but very perceptive.

Dee, In addition I would canvas the local area and see how other HOA's handle this. I am sure some of these requirements will be locality driven restrictions. Water availability comes to mind.

Thanks Glen ... I have already gathered several local codes, etc. I was hoping to gather some HOA-specific rules that the local codes are not concerned about ... most of the communities in our area a new and do not allow above-ground pools, so there's not much to pull from around here.

For example, I'm looking for things like do you allow decking or temp structures around the pools? Can you require that the above-ground be of a height that does not require additional fencing, maintenance, location, etc.
