Hi all,

I've been recently elected to the BOD here and am seeking assistance on contract writing. We currently employ a one-man grass cutting service (independent contractor) and general handyman. His contract is outdated and I want to make sure it is updated and written correctly, but the wording seems to indicate that he is an employee and not a contractor. After researching online, i'm a little paranoid about the employee vs. independent contractor information I've read from the IRS, etc. and want to make sure we do not misclassify him. Does anyone have a sample contract to share?

Also, our office is operating only by volunteers, as the previous contractor (office manager) left. She also left with copies of her contract! We need only 6 to 10 hours per week to manage the office (historically) -- again I want to be sure we are legal. I don't know how to classify if the position would be a contractor or part-time employee or what.

If anyone is willing to provide boilerplates of contract agreements, that would help me a bunch in this time crunch. Any resources or websites would be appreciated.

Understand my final contract should best have a lawyer review, but I'd like to minimize our costs by creating a draft if possible.

Thank you for any assistance you may provide!
