That’s no good, talk about “calling the kettle black” I don’t know legally what you can or can’t do but, I would think you could ask for amendment or an exemption to the rule. It is doing to be a difficult situation for you. I assume you will have to present it the other board members and then you all will have to vote on it. I don’t believe you will be able to vote, because it would immediately benefit you. HMMMMMM I’m not sure Sorry to hear Chuck W. |

| Well of course if your board gives you permission to have 4 pets, this establishes a precedent and how do you refuse other homeowners? And yes, I think these types of restrictions are meant to be challenged. It's not the physical quantity of pets, but the nuisance that pets can cause - even just one. And most places have city or county ordances to control nuisance pets. Harold |

i have always disliked the "X number of Pet's" requirement... I have dogs, cats, fish, and i consider my gecko's in the yard as pets too, along with the birds I feed, etc.. So, if i have three goldfish as pets, and i bring in a dog, am i over the rule? What about the person who has four cats inside their house, never ever seen by another person... what's wrong with that? One thing to do is to read your rules carefully. For instance, our states that we cannot OWN more than X pets. However, we foster for various rescue groups, so we may have up to four dogs in our home, or six cats, at any one time, while they wait to find a forever home. They may stay one night, two weeks, or several months. However, we don't OWN them, so the rule doesn't apply. Read your rule carefully, don't read what you think it says, read exactly what it says. does it state "own" or "keep" or "have" or???? Does it define pets? Does it speak to any exemptions? If you are in violation, then prepare a question for the board, to ask for an exemption. Let the board, minus you, decide. Then, carefully document the exact exemption (if it is granted) so you can apply it in the future. |
