With all the discussion lately about foreclosures and people abandoning their property this article from Association Times on winterizing those properties is a timely reminder. This will not affect those of you with stand alone homes, unless your Association pays for water use but it could greatly complicate lives of those in condominiums and townhomes.
Imagine what could result from a burst pipe in one of these units, the damage it could cause. Not to mention the headache of trying to get it resolved. If they're not paying their mortgage and assessments I doubt they are paying their utilities to heat the unit or their homeowners insurance.
