Has anyone used monitored Video cameras for security on HOA premises? We are discussing removing our one man security patrol in favor of 50 monitored video cameras of the entire property. I'm just looking for feedback on this idea? We are in Calif. I'd love to hear if anyone has done this and did it make a difference in crime? I appreciate your input.
Linda.. our property in the year 2007 approximately 10 known trespassers who broke into our buidling to use the pool, one incident they broke into the garage and stole things out of cars. That was 2007. WE installed 5 cameras throughout the complex. Posted signs that it was a monitored property and we only have had 1 incident of stupid teens breaking in to use the pool. They in turn were video'd and we saw which home own'ers kid let them in. the tell tale sign was they were swimmnig after hours in thier clothes. It was shared with the homeowner who more or less could NOT deny this happened and the HOA threatend to use law enforcement next time if this happens again... our property from last year to this year shows less crime... and it's due to the dvr recording... worth it's weight in gold.
