The news letter came out telling about about having a third party audit, based on the other management actions. How long does the audit take ? The new management company is a partner with a CPA.As i stated in other post Mom is treasure on the board, Is this being used to not allow the books to be reviewed ? Asked to see the books in July.
Been getting the special meeting request, and the president was lashing out at me in the news letter, that people have come up to the board about being accused to sign a petition. Containing information they are not familar with. Still plan to try for election at annual meeting, then have the special meeting as back up.
What can i do to help the ho about this news letter trying to scare people, from signing any petition and losing controll This next sentence gets better with the rumor mill(some couple told me how a woman was assaaulted,They heard this was me they were talking about.

I am not sure about your question, but here goes:

Audits can take 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months, depending on the type of audit and the complexity of your books.

I don't understand WHAT the petition is for. Is it for the special meeting? People either sign it or not. That is their right.

What happens to the peition when all the signatures are gathered?

The most important thing an unhappy member can do is to present a calm, investigative, BUT healing approach when trying to solve issues that are causing problems in the association. I hope that you will show leadership qualities. Physical fighting is never right and I hope you will do everything to stop it.

I don't think that a woman was assaulted.

I smell an HOA president who is concerned that residents are getting clued in to her regime's "risky business" trying to run a little interference by starting a false rumor that the guy gathering the signatures is "dangerous."

Anyway, I know Park has been dealing with his issues for a while and he is doing the right thing by following the rule of law.

The "audit" is a good start, but even that is only as good as the person conducting it.

I would be leery of an audit being conducted by the CPA of the management company involved in the HOA.

My best wishes for you going forward. All I can recommend when people are trashing you with unsubstantiated rumors, is to let your own good reputation and above-board behavior speak for itself.

If you are asking people to sign a petition, what is for must be explained in very simple, easy to understand language. If I were you I would send out an information sheet first telling your community they can call you if they have questions and after a week or so go door to door with the petition.
