I thought the people in this forum would appreciate this Luann comic strip. It unfortunately describes the mindsets of many people who move into HOAs.

While it does, there are the HOAs that make one scratch their head. Check out the thread "Is this abusive or not?" This is in my area and the whole thing seems ludicrous to me. To use dollar value when deciding what can be parked in the drive seems a bit crazy. But that is pretty much the size of what the HOA is doing.

I agree with you that the HOA should not get down to what kind or color or size should be parked in the driveways. In our case, our very large Developer wrote the original covenants with the restrictions. Then when he was subpoenaed into court, his statement was "That was not my intention" And that is why so many HOAs get in trouble trying to enforce covs with their interpretation of what was the Developers intent.
