I am not quite sure on the posting of the minutes? Florida Sunshine laws states minutes to be posted on Members Meetings, we have "worhshops" every Wed. sometimes more if needed. I see no reason to post these work shop minutes. At the Homeowners meeting we tell what and if anything needs to be done and voted on. My thought if we post every time we meet the bullitin board will be COVERED, in papers of minutes!! We have open board meetings to all once a month.Plus our door is open to anyone that wants to attend our workshops. Ok all hope all is having a good summer and its HOT!!!in south Florida!........LaVerne- Greenacres,fl

Hi Laverne,
I wondered if things were going smoothly for ya'll down there because we haven't heard from you. Thats a good thing! Anyhow, Number 1. SUNSHINE LAWS DO NOT PERTAIN TO HOA MEETINGS UNLESS THERE IS AN ISSUE BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND THE ASSOCIATION (caps-sorry) in regard to zoning and permit issues. Therefore, don't worry about the minutes of everything being posted per Sunshine Laws.

Number 2.. Minutes of the association Board and committee meetings are not required to be posted anyplace. If they are read at Board meetings, then that is sufficient. Residents can access them per a request to the Board or P.M. It is very wise and saves alot of headaches to either have them available on a website, newsletter, office or any other means of communication that the association uses regularly but you do not have to post them anyplace.
(ps, hot in Tenn. also)

If the results of the workshops are reported to the Board, then the happenings will be in the minutes, or as an attachment. Is this really a commmittee, in structure? Do you have a budget? Has the Board charged you with a task?

I guess I'm not understanding what is going on in the workshops.

Posting minutes,
Call them what you will but they are reports of people discussing association business and expling how decisions are reached and what action is advised.

So, can you think of a better place to put them other than your Web Site. That information made public, to me, would justify the creation of a Web site. If you have one, use it, it you don't get one. The saving in time and postage are significant., not to mention a one click exercise and the deed is done and filed away.
