hoa president wants to hire relative ????

I'm on the board,and our President does not want to listen to my questions concerning our roof replacement or roof repairs . I'm questioning her as to certain things that are transpiring concerning the right of imformation and making dicissions without the board members.

If she want to hire her relitive to represent us is this ethical ?

If she is making costly mistakes and getting improper bids on the work and un-ethicly doing it .What can I do as a board member check paperwork ?

A contract should not be awarded without a vote of the board of directors. What do the other board members think? Has there been a meeting to make any decisions?

Jack, request competative sealed bids. If her relative bids she should not be involved in the vote to select the contractor. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with a family member doing work for the association.
