We are in the process of hiring a new Property Manager?

What questions would you ask?

Pat, I suggest you first determine those companies to whom you want to send an RFP. Next develop a detailed RFP. Next based on the bids received select up to 3 management companies to interview.

Most important during the interview process is to interview with the Agent who would be assigned to manage your HOA.
Q1. How long have you been managing HOA's and what type - condos, townhomes, individual homes?
Q2. How many HOA's and what is the total number of units which you currently manage?
Q3. Explain your process of collecting assessments.
Q4. What is your record on collecting assessments? What percent achieved?
Q5. Explain your process of enforcement of Covenants and Rules.
Q6. What has been your record on enforcement?
Q7. How many times have you had to refer an account to an attorney? How many went to litigation?
Q8. Do you believe keeping the Board out of trouble would be an important part of your job?
Q9. Create a hypothetical problem and ask them how they would resolve it.
Q10. What questions do you want to ask this Board?
