AnnaD2, Certainly your suggestions are well intended and helpful to the process. However, I would let Ellen decide how she is going to handle this as far as bringing all this HOA talk to the fore and place it in front of any candidate considered for board selection. Next thing our friend Ellen will be up before the board. It is a problem and a decision has to be made. Hopefully Eleen can consult with the rest of the Board and make a selection and move on. Ellen knows better than us her position, and I read that somehow she is either going to singularly make the decision or she will have great influence, which means she will make the decision. I also think the posibility of selecting both has a temporary measure if the Board is not capped in number, until the general election. Come on Ellen, pick a number, is it door #1, door#2, or Doors #1 and #2. |

Anna, Thanks..good point to let him know someone else is interested. Who knows he may have been pushed into this. If he doesn't show up at our meeting tomorrow night (about a half block from his home) I think that says it all. Good suggestion that he can put his name in before the next annual meeting only a few months from now. |

Robert, If I were the only one to make the decision I would never have posted. Once again our now 4 board members have split two to two. We have a meeting tomorrow night to meet the new candidate so who knows what will happen. Not quite sure what you mean that shortly I will be up before the board??? |

Ellen, just an observation. 2 for 2 against, and Ellen seems to be under the gun to sort the two candidates out. Maybe not, just seems that way to me. Anyway, I don't know how you are going to get out of the process with voting your vote for one of the two, which may result in a tie, or even one side or the other gains a vote, if they vote party line. If emotions are high you could be put on the hot seat as the motivator, manipulated and God know what to get your candidate elected or selected. I have no doubt you are up to any task a split board can throw at you, so not to worry, all is in good hands. |

Robert, I'm not really under the gun and since our next election is only a few months to go I would care less. However, in the next month the board has a huge vote on a $20,000 legal issue and involves hiring/or not a new law firm who we believe will help us recoup the $20,000. Our last inept law firm got us into this fix. In addition our last management company removed a little over $6,000 from our reserves without the board's approval. It's a sticky time so I am rightfully concerned. My preference is a person who has been involved vs. someone who hasn't. Now for a little humor, one board member is for the other candidate "because he's a big man who could intimidate homeowner's when he knocks on their doors". I didn't know board members were given the right to knock on doors and intimidate owners. If I had my way we would have two open positions on the board with this type of thinking. I would be the first to go if I knew we had a business like board and the little old sexist lady would be the other. Unfortunately we have to overlook and stroke folks to keep them on the board. I don't know if this is so emotional but we'll find out tomorrow night. |
