Is there a legal requirement for the dimensions of a resident parking space? There are 24 units in our Condo development

I don't know if there is a legal size except those that are handicapped. The smallest I have seen is 9 foot wide, those are pretty tight with vehicles. Depends on how many door dings you want and how many spaces you need.

some city codes may specify parking size in multifamily housing. you will have to check that.

i am pretty sure there are no state or federal laws on the size of a parking space (except, perhaps, the handicap dimensions as mentioned).

Your city planning office would be the place to start with. They should be able to tell you what laws and guidelines are in place. The laws could very a lot from one locality to the next. (Then again they may not.)

I can tell you that my city planning department has always worked hard to help me understand anything that I have inquired about. They also helped me to change my street's name after I pointed out a problem with addresses and problems with services (including a fire truck once) going to the wrong place.
