I thought I would turn around and ask some ideas what we can do with this?

We have an amazing room with loads of potential. It use to be an gym initially and it was eventually closed down due to non maintenance and injuries that occurred. The room is not really big but it is attached to a huge third floor balcony that is about 15 by 15 ft. The room is not air conditioned, has no flooring and needs paint.

One member wants to up date it to a gym. Not a bad idea, but there is no A/C and it gets hot up there.

The room has been closed for years. I think we should ask the HO's in a poll for ideas and what they want done with it.

A gym in my eyes would really be expensive to set up and many years ago it turned into a dumping ground for old stairmasters and unwanted equipement. The stuff we threw out of there goodwill wouldn't even take. LOL

Ideas?

To me there are a multitude of options. You could add air conditioning as part of the remodel. However, the cost of the equipment and the liability may not be something you want to get into as far as a gym. You could scale it down and just put in a couple of treadmills or ellipticals...

Here are some other thoughts, depending on what you want to do with room.

1. Create a lounge type area for people to hang out together. Table, chairs, couch, TV, just a place where few folks can go hang out.

2. Meeting room, with tables and chairs

3. Storage room, not exactly sure how it would be done, but allow members to store excess items they don't use all the time.

4. Party room with a bar for small gatherings, the association could rent it out to interested members.

5. Office space for board or employees (if needed)

6. Guest bedroom, perhaps if people have friends or family visiting and you don't want them to go to a hotel, you could rent it out cheap to members for use.
