Are yard sales (even once a year event) authorized within the compound of a condominium?.. this, in spite of the fact that nothing is mentioned about it i the CC&Rs?

Alex,
Are you talking about a community one or an individual homeowner. If you mean, one for yourself, I would bet a good dollar that you will need permission from the Board. If not addressed in your Docs, such as signs, etc then legally there is nothing prohibiting you from doing one. And you said that this is authorized within the compound? so it means that it is okay. If the Board did the authorization, then that is a better okay.

Good Question. I always wondered about that. Donna, is right if it is not in the docs There is nothing the BOD can do. I know our docs say only about putting signs up. That leaves it open for yard sales a sfar a sI am concerned......LaVerne, fl

Alex,

I don't see why not, unless there is a board-adopted rule in place. Many boards have the authority to adopt rules w/o the vote of the members. Your CCRs will state whether your board has this ability and if so, what the rules can address.
