I was recently voted on to the board to trustees of my HOA. The past board members never took care of the violaters of the HOA. Now myself and the other two board members have decided to take on the HOA. However we don't now how to go about it. So I am looking for some sample violation letters that I can reference and also what kind of violation and fine schedules that are being followed. Also I will take any advise anybody is willing to give. Thank you !!!!!!!

Rebecca welcome and good luck in your endeavors; I think you'll find a wealth of information and opinions here and it's nice to have someone else from the Buckeye. There was a thread not too long ago dealing with this issue, just paste the link below into your browser to get there.

P.S. There is a bill before the Ohio legislature that would start to regulate HOA's in Ohio.

H. B. No. 220 has been introduced to provide HOA's with many of the rights and protections that H. B. 135 gave to condo owners. This includes protection from unexpected 'Special Assessments' by requiring a fully funded reserve fund.
To see the entire bill: http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/bills.cfm?ID=127_HB_220 then contact your State Representative and let them know it should be passed.
