I own a condo in miami and the developer is in control of the HOA.
Recently I recieved a letter from my mortgage company alerting me that my flood coverage on my condo was expired. I tried for 45 days to get the developer tp provide the insurance. I called the former insurance carrier and he said they are no longer insured through him. There was a lapse in coverage.
Now, I find out that the HOA corp. was inactive for 5 months , all the while collecting HOA fees.
The building has only closed 3 other units, and is now all rentals. The HOA has not provide me with Bylaws or budgets or even alerted me about the inactive status of the HOA.
they have not even been able to provide me proof that the funds from assesments are not commingled with the builders funds.
WHat can I do?
