How much time is needed for the board to inform the members of the community of a quarterly meeting cancellation? How should this be communicated.

Paul, Posting the cancellation, and reschedule date at the meeting place is always best. Depending upon the size of your community, phone calls are acceptable. Adequate written notice of a meeting 48 hours in advance of a meeting, with the agenda to the extent known is what is typically required per the open meetings act. One could argue that 48 hours in advance of cancellation is required, but cancellations are usually unforseeble and last minute. A good idea is for your association to mail each owner the yearly meeting schedule of open/workshop board meetings and specify a cancellation notification policy.
