Our property Owners requested an audit every year. We have had some shady dealings in the past are in the process of a lawsuit to correct that. What specifics should I look for or ask about when deciding on an audtior? The property owner's main concerns are the financial part, I would also like the office procedures looked at as well.

Secondly, I am interested in knowing what our property owners and business associates think about their interactions with our office staff. We are self managed and I just want to make sure that our staff is treating everyone that interacts with them correctly. I spend quite a bit of time with the office staff and they keep me extremely informed, but I do not like to only have the information they provide. There could be issues that people are having and I would never know. Is sending out a survey a good way to find this information.

Most of our property owners feel their opinions are best when shared amongst themselves and not to the board members. Typically any issues that the board hears about are through the grapevine. It is very difficult to get anyone to talk to us as a board. For years past boards of directors have done what they wanted and did not really listen to the property owners. I do not know how to change that feeling, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!
