We recently replaced an outdated water heater/boiler in our 31 unit condo complex. In the replacement and reinstallation of the new unit the plumbing contractors did a back flush of the aging plumbing system. Five or six of the units are now without water pressure in various faucets within their units. Simple cleaning of the faucets does not seem to correct the problem.

In questioning the Board President the response has been that as it is inside of the individual unit, repair is the responsibility of the homeowner and not a problem to be handled by the association.

We feel that as it was caused by a common area repair, the correction should be the responsibility of the association as part of the replacement/installation process.

I would like some direction as we are wanting to avoid legal wrangling.

Curt, I'll bet the President doesn't have a problem with any of their faucets! It seems obvious what caused the problem so I would expect repairs to be done by the association or the contractor. Has anyone talked to the contractor? Perhaps they will correct the problem they created.
