Does anyone know of a law that prohibits the HOA from enforcing the covenants for state owned vehicles. We have a homeowner thats a Marine patrol officer and he sometimes is required to bring the boat
home to add or adjust equipment. Its parked in the rear of his driveway almost out of view when its there. Our covenants do not allow boat storage unless behind a fence. However when we bought our lot there was no such restriction on boats or a lot of other things, many things were added after we signed the contract. Anyway I havent found any thing that is official regarding state vehicles, but would be glad to give him a variance if needed, which is allowed even encouraged in our covenants.Being the lot size is 1+
acre. We are located in Florida.

FYI Arizona has just enacted a law that allows a public utility vechicle to be parked on HOA property, if it is a requirement of his/her employment.

Good for Arizona, I love to see something positive for the homeowner for a change. As president of our association I would just give him a variance anyway. Im not sure what Florida law says but I know they have done a lot of reforms to the HOA laws in favor of the homeowners. They still have a long way to go.
