Please help
We are a small Texas town home community of 118 units built in 1977. We were informed from our insurance provider that they will not cover the complex for fire that is caused by an aluminum wire shortage. Half of the units are wired with copper and the other half is aluminum. We will not get coverage until all units comply.
What are the homeowner’s responsibility and the association in this matter?
As it stands we just had a meeting and the home owners were given three months to comply and pay for the needed repairs. Those that don’t comply will face the consequences which includes a lawsuit leading to a lien on there unit. Meanwhile until all homeowners comply we are without coverage.
