Can anyone provide me with a "fill in the blanks" form letter to notify members that they ar not in compliance with bylaws. I am the president of a michigan homeowners association if it makes any difference. Thanks so much. BK

Bruce, normally compliance notices are for restrictions in the Declaration of CC&Rs and Rules and Regulations. The By-laws normally address members, meetings, board, officers, etc.

We use at least two letters. The first is a VIOLATION WARNING to make them aware there is a restriction of which they may be in violation. The next is a VIOLATION NOTICE which states the alledged violation, reference to the applicable CC&R or Rules restriction, a timeframe for correction, and a warning that they can be fined after the right to a Hearing if not corrected.

You can find additional information by searching for my example of RULES AND REGULATIONS ON ENFORCEMENT OF COVENANTS AND RULES.

Correction to "and a warning that they can be fined after the right to a Hearing if not corrected."
Should be "and a warning that they can be fined after the right to a Hearing if they don't believe there is a violation."
