I know what our bylaws state, but we need to know if state statutes require us allow any condo owner to attend our monthly board meetings.
I have done a cursory search of CT laws but cannot find anything about meetings.

I don't see anything in the state law that requires open board meetings, but then, except of a few specific areas, I can't think of any reason to close them, either.

I'm new to the board, and this so goes against everything I believe in, but that is what this board has done. They will only allow unit owners to attend the annual meeting, thats it.

You didn't clarify that in your original post. Associations are private corporations, which usually only allow members (stockholders) to attend annual meetings. They don't have to be open to the general public, or non-owners.

I think we have a mis communication here.
What I am saying is, condo unit owners are only allowed to attend one meeting a year, the annual meeting.
The executive board holds meetings monthly to conduct the normal HOA business. The unit owners are NOT allowed to attend those monthly meetings.

Wow I am surprised that all board meetings (except executive sessions) are not open to all condo units. For our condo assocation we are required to have 12 meetings per year according to our by-laws (one of which is our annual meeting). Only the unit owners are allowed to vote for members of the board, not renters.

Bob,

Then back to my original post, they can, but it's not good business.
