Vicki, you're in for a real ride! I couldn't agree with you more....this site is the MOST helpful thing I've ever found with dealing with homeowners and condo associations. Look for the "posters" with the most experience and also those familiar with your own state and your state statutes. I read EVERY reply to my posts; but when it comes to knowledge, I "hone in" on those from my home state. We've got some GREAT people on this site and I always feel I have people in the wings cheering me on and giving me useful advise! You'll find some fantastic people here! Welcome!!!

I have been all I can and I see you are from Florida and I am glad I do not live there...I think. I have read so much on the "Sunshine Law" (I think it is called that) that it must be very complicated. Thanks again for the advice I will do just that. I hope you have continued success...

Hi Vicki,

I read that you are glad that you do not live in Florida. Well, I can say that there are days----- but Florida is such a large State and we have people from all over the U.S which gives us all kinds of people and not all are easy to live with in a HOA situation. And we have probably the largest number of HOAs in the country. That is why we have attempted to control the living within this type of situation. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is CRAZYLAND, but we keep trying.
And for you to know, many States have "Sunshine Laws" which I believe Virginia does have. Each State's are different but it is a good thing as it protects people from being locked out of public meetings. These are very good laws for all of us.
