Kevin putting a lic. on hold orqualifieing another co. would do nothing to circumvent the requirment for the new inc. rule. and to incorparate only cost a few hundred.
futher the new law was not an attempt to hurt the little guy, rather it was to close a loophole, wherby contractors were taking two "EMPLOYEES" and making them officers of the corp. and they qualified for exempt status. the new law requires all seeking exempt status to inc. with this stipulation "the two officers,in order to be exempt must own a certain percentage of the corp." that effectivly prevents someone from diguising employees as officers of the corp.

ther is always someone looking for the loophole.

OK TOM,WHAT EXACTLY IS IT THAT YOU DO FOR A LIVING AND I'LL TELL YOU HOW THINGS WORK IN YOUR FIELD..BECAUSE I CAN TELL YOU'VE NEVER BEEN A LICENSED CONTRACTOR.LOOP HOLE THEY MADE IT EASIER FOR A LOOP HOLE NOW YOU CAN HAVE 5 PEOPLE W/C EXEMPT BEFORE IT WAS JUST THE SOLE PROPRIETOR.ALSO YOU HAVE NEVER WENT FROM SOLE PROPRIETOR TO INC. YOU HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE TO PUT EVERTHING YOU OWN INTO STOCKS ,THEN YOU HAVE TO DEVIDE STOCKS AMONG OWNERS BUT YES SINCE THEY STOPED GIVING THE LITTLE MAN SOLE PROPRIETOR W/C EXEMPT IT ONLY HELPED THE BIG BUSSINESS BECAUSE THEY COULD'NT COMPETE WITH A CONTRACTOR THAT DOES'NT HAVE TO PAY W/C.hey i'm not yellin forgot to hit the caps, sorry about that ,but the real question is about volunteering and i've been told and shown by the board that volunteers are covered up to 500,000 w'c...so this horse is dead..Thanks KEVIN
