As a resident of Coconut Creek Fla. and a victim of WIlma I would like to place a metal S-tile roof on my home. My HOA refuses to allow the roof to be installed. My HOA documents require S-tile but does not specify concrete tiles. Does this seem like a fair denial?

Does your HOA have any Architectural Guidelines posted?

In other HOAs they did not and a home owner started changing his roof and they forced him to stop. Because no published Guidelines he was finally allowed to finish.

No Joan. Go back to the Architectural committee and request they reconsider based on the controlling documents by which they must abide. If they still won't approve your request then you can appeal their decision to the Board and explain with the controlling documents which control over the ACC and the Board.

Is it stone-coated steel material? If so, to help persuade you could provide them with information to show the many advantanges and that it will not detract from the neighborhood.
