i am new the hoa in which i am building a new house with pool..the hoa approved the plans for the house.i started building the pool,which is in the stage of pouring the concrete..the hoa says the pool must be built 5 ft in from the edge of the house..mine is about 4 ft. outside the edge of the house..is there a way to get around something like this?

Did you get approval to build the pool 4 feet from the edge of the house from the Architectural Committee? If not, a possible recourse is to try to get a variance approved.

This could also be a local building code issue as well. Did you get a building permit for the pool and was it approved by your city/county? Pool distance from a home is a common item in the building code.

Be careful if you don't permit it and don't follow code. It can cost you on resale when an inspector finds it and the the city/county could even force you to correct it at a future date.

no i did`nt get approval from the committee..i just got with the pool builder..but we do have a permit from the city..thanks
