Article: Drought may outlaw Georgia pools

Our neighborhood is still new and the pool serves as a great way for neighbors to meet.

Our pool is used a the center piece of many of our Social committee events.

Now to the question. What would you do if you were on the BOD if you are unable to open the pool?

Can the money budgeted ($37,600) for pool operations go into the Capital Reserves account? Without the pool can we allowcate some of the money to the social committee to plan additional (non-pool type) socials?

Any suggestions? Thanks again, BruceD1

The Board should be constantly looking at the budget, especially the year-to-date expenditures vs. budgeted amounts. If you have an unusual event, such as this drought, which has impacted an expected expenditure, then the board needs to re-evaluate the budget.

Budgets can be amended the same way they are approved. (Motion and vote by the same assembly that approved it in the first place)
