We recently held our Annual Election. I have asked and received copies of proxies(47) submitted as well as ballots(22). Homeowners are instructed by the Property Manager to sign in on the Attendance Roster. I have counted more ballots than actual homeowners present at this meeting and, am relying on my memory as well as another neighbor who concurs with me and remembers who and where other homeowners sat as they arrived. Do I have a right to request the Property Manager to reveal homeowner's names on the Attendance Roster? And, shouldn't this document also be retained in the same file with proxies received and ballots collected until the next annual election? How much time is considered 'reasonable' to receive a response back from the Property Manager for this information?

BTW, I also noticed that the Property Manager had removed all the proxies from their envelopes prior to the meeting and, while the electon monitors were tallying the votes, I overheard her commenting that we just "squeaked by" in meeting quorum, in our case 20% or, 52 by proxy/ballot or in person. Am I the only one who thinks something "fishy" is going on here? Interested in your thoughts or how you would handle this situation. Thanks. -ReneeD

Yes, any member can ask to see the sign-in sheet. We file the sign-in sheet and proxies (and ballots if used) stapled together. A reasonable time is within 5 working days of receiving your request to view the documents.
