Despite being in a state that regularly gets storms (FL), and taking a direct hit from Irma, we still do not have a disaster recovery plan. I'm asking if anyone is aware of a plan for their community, to please share a link to it, or if you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences as you created one for your community.

We don't have one, but I think CAI (Community Associations Institute) has some materials you can adapt to your community. You might also want to go to the website of the Red Cross - they might not have specific HOA information, but some good general information you could use as well.

I tried to get one organized. It's kind of difficult. It's best to consult the experts like fire chief or EMA. They can give best resources. It may be handing out a brochure for people to know where to meet or contact in case of emergency. A common meeting or central shared place for information is good to have set up. Kid of the like the "phone tree".

It depends on how your HOA property is set up for setting up an effective plan. The EMA or Fire chief can come by and review. Also there is evacuation shelters to consider. Like everyone should try to make it to xyz shelter and report in/sign up sheet for your HOA.

We have tornados here in Alabama. Our town doesn't offer tornado shelters. As crazy as that seems. We do have 1 but the mayor will close it. So we are basically on our own and no basements. It's best to work with the experts and put out best knowledge on how to react.

2011 we had the worst tornado outbreak and without power for a week. (This is the anniversary). Just missed a few miles down the road the F5. It underscores the need for everyone to be informed and have a plan.

AnonP you are spamming this website. If you have an issue to bring up then bring it up on it's OWN topic. Do NOT keep posting it on others. Plus you are violating some of the rules on this forum. We don't post names of our HOA's or people in them. That is not fair or right to anyone.

We are ALL from All around the country. We are NOT from your HOA. That is between you and your HOA. We can just provide you some advise on how best to handle the situation. Thank you.
