Do any of your boards use a consent agenda as part of your meetings? I’m considering putting one in place to shave some time off our monthly meetings where we approve/accept/review the same things each month.

If you use one what items does your board include?

What are you approving individually each month that takes up time?

Consent agendas are fine, but at any time, a board member can pull out something and remove it from the group. This item would then be put on the regular agenda.

Many Board members get a packet of items before the meeting. Consent Agenda approval items are things that may have been discussed at work sessions, communications, authorizing bill payments, revenue and expenditure reports, and previous minutes.

I initiated an agenda item to allow consent agendas in certain cases. The board approved it and mainly uses a Consent Agenda for about 13 required steps we must take in CA for the annual meeting. They all must be approved at an open meeting. The board tends to approve each with no need for discussion or debate. So....what could easily take 20 minutes now takes less than five.

For regular monthly business, it could be used to approve the minutes and the financials. Not sure what else would be a "natural" on a Consent Agenda. What items do you have in mind, Chris? Sorry I can't find a sample at davis-stirling.com. This is, though, an example of something that won't vary from state to state.
