Our small HOA is looking for an inexpensive accounting software program. Any suggestions?

We have just started using quickbooks, so far the Treasurer likes it. We are also very small 110 homes, and we collect dues($80.00) once a year so we mostly using it to track expenses, and hopefully help with next years budget.

I have been using Quicken for the past couple of years for a 291 member association. The program works well. Quickbooks is a more sophisticated program, one reason why I chose Quicken for our small one annual fee per year HOA.

I think Quicken is a very useful and cheap accounting software. It costs only $80. It works well for us as a small business.

Ouicken for small HOAs, QuickBooks for medium to large size. I use both. Microsoft Money doesn't work for us. PeachTree if you're looking for something really heavy duty---but it has too many bells and whistles for us.

We are a medium HOA with 136 units, have recently changed our management company after an agonising search.

We are investigating FILEMAKER. this program was reccomended to us as a database program, and many users have customised it to track all information pertaining to units or lots.
It will i believe export to and import from accoutnig packages. I know it does so from Excel and other spreadsheets.

Has anybody any experience and models using Filemaker?

Microsoft has a new small Business Accounting program that cost around $150.00. It is comparable to PeachTree. I used a pre-release version and liked it better than the version of PeachTree I have.
