Somewhat editted so not to name names but good for local government to do so:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has filed suit against So and So. They are accused of not finishing infrastructure work at phase two of the So and SOsubdivision.
That work at the West Nashville subdivision should have been completed by March of 2006. The nine homeowners in that phase of the subdivision are still waiting nearly six years later.
"The street lights, the stop signs, signage, everything that needed to be done and paving of the final phase. But Metro let the bond expire," according to So and So, president of the So and So Homeowners Association.
That bond would have covered the cost Metro would have to pay to finish the work.
The suit against So and So seeks money to finish the infrastructure work in phase two of So and So, and attorney fees paid by Metro.
Since the fall of the housing market many communities have had to deal with the issue of unfinished subdivisions.
Metro has taken legal action against 30 developers for not fulfilling requirements agreed to when issued the construction plats.
In early February the Metro City Council approved a plan that will allow 11 subdivision apply for $2.5 million in assistance to complete unfinished infrastructure work.
