I would like to know how much we are paying our employess..the budget came out with a lump some, not individual. As we as homeowners are paying their salary, do we have the right?

I think you have the information that you have a right to, which is the total spent on salaries (which might or might not include benefits). I would not expect to have access to individual salaries unless I was on the board.

I don't believe you need to know EACH individual salaries. That is private information. Keeping the information as one lump summ allow privacy and fullfills the need to know how much the HOA pays in salary. Otherwise knowing how much an individual makes is a bit out of line and leads down a bad road.

Why do need to know why one person makes what they do? There's no real purpose in this information that I can think of that is purposeful.

You risk upsetting the employees if they find out whom makes what. I say keep it general and specifics in BOD Executive Session.
