Many times I have seen the same thing posted "lack of participation" in the HOA my thought is this if someone hasn't contributed something "Positive" to the HOA then they shouldn't be allowed to vote. Positive to me would be maintaining your lot(year round) raking a few leaves off the wellhouse lot or mowing it,picking up that bag of garbage that fell on the ground, filling the dumpster from back to front, making sure any work you do doesn't create a "run off" problem not a lot of big stuff but really annoying when those who do NOTHING attend one meeting and vote in some project to suit them.

If you idea were put into place most properties would have very few owners able to then vote.

IMO restricting their ability to vote would do nothing to increase participation.

Protecting their homes and investments is not high on the list of things to do for most.

Getting involved and making an effort is replaced by placing blame and making accusations.

IMO we find ourselves in a very sad place in regards to what people are willing to do and how little that is.
