I was also wondering if a meeting letter should go out in advanced so we know what is going on. I missed my Homeowners meeting because the letter telling us it would happen literally didn't go into our mail slots until an hour before the actual meeting. Also, we only get the board meeting letters saying they will have a meeting the day after they actually had a meeting. I think the homeowner has a right to know about these meeting beforehand.. is this right?

Jenny...i would agree with that, and states are slowing starting to agree with you. Many states have passed legislation requiring boards to give notice of meetings. Not sure if Texas is one of them, I would point you to your state statutes for the answers.

I can tell by your two posts you are upset, while you have a right to be, I would say this...many boards are volunteers who don't know the rules and are over their heads in terms of having too much to do with their regular life that the HOA portion gets pushed aside. While you may think they did that intentional more than likely they aren't making this a priority.
