Does anyone know if Oklahoma Laws require Covenents to be updated at a specific interval?
We have a new homeowner who has made statement that there is a requirement that the covenent be updated every two (2) years in Oklahoma.

Is this in your CC&R's? Most CC&R's I know don't come with a revision date attached. It's a good idea in general to update them every 5 - 7 years to reflect current changes/technology etc. However, I wouldn't see the purpose of updating every 2 years as it is a HUGE undertaking that can take 2 years to finish. Hopefully, someone can post an actual link but I just highly doubt this requirement exists.

Melvin,

Not that I saw (but I may have missed something). Community Associations Network, a sponsor of this site, has consolidated links to States HOA laws. Here is a link to their Oklahoma page.

If you scroll down the page you will see the links to the laws on the left hand side.

Hope this helps,

A good rule of thumb is when someone tells you that such and such is the law, tell them you were unaware of that and politely ask them to point it out to you, so you can become better educated. Some of the time they are trying to bluff you, some of the time they are repeating what someone told them, some of the time they have heard of a proposed law and assumed it passed and sometimes it actually is a law.
