We will be forming a new HOA for our subdivision, and I would like to know who can be directors, and the list of officers position.this will be in located in central Florida

This reply will not answer your question. Sorry. I do have a quick question for you though. How long did it take your developer to release the HOA to the homeowners? I am in the process of purchasing a home in a new development as well.

tHE SUBDIVISION IS 80% FILLED, AND NOW THE DEVELOPER IS TURNING THE HOA OVER. OUR FIRST MEETING IS COMING VERY SOON, AND I DON.T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HOA'S BOARD OR OFFICERS POSITIONS. SHOULD YOU FIND OUT ANYTHING FURTHER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Click the Bookstore link. Click Board Member Resources. Browse the other categories as well, but one book that looks interesting for you may be:

There are a lot of good books out there to review and another good web site to get information from is http://www.associationtimes.com.

I recommend that you make sure you have the homeowners supporting you and look into getting a management company to help you set up. Review you By-laws and CC&R’s and insure that the homeowners agree with them before the developer turns it over to you. If changes are needed have the developer make the changers before turning them over. Have one or two meeting before everything is turnover to insure everyone understands what they are getting into. Get the newsletters out there and get everyone involved. Here is our web site http://www.cp2hoa.com.

AnthonyR, CC&R's is short for The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of your homeowners association.
Often referred to as Declaration, or Covenants, or CC&Rs.

Get with the homeowners and take a vote as for paying someone to help you set the HOA up. The developer should have been collecting the assessment from the homeowners, with that money it would be wise to pay to have someone come in and help you set up the homeowners association.
